Born from an ongoing collaboration between HOST and Studio Perring, STRATA is reimagined through ReCinder – transforming an existing collection into a new expression of circular ceramic making.
Originally inspired by the layered geological formations of the Suffolk coast, Graham Perring's STRATA collection explores the relationship between form and proportion, surface and material. In this new edition, that exploration takes on another dimension through ReCinder a material innovation developed from vitrified ceramic waste.
Each vessel is made using 88% ReCinder and just 12% new clay, substantially reducing its reliance on virgin ceramic material. The exterior is left unglazed and finished with rubbed iron oxide, revealing the raw character and natural variation of the ReCinder body, while a matt black glaze creates a contrasting interior.
