COLLABORATIONS

Collaboration has always been at the heart of HOST.
We work with designers, artists, researchers, academia, makers and manufacturers, bringing together different skills and perspectives to explore what can be achieved with the existing resources.

Some collaborations begin with a material looking for a new purpose; others with an idea, a waste stream or a shared curiosity. They can result in a single object, an exclusive collection, a new material or a much longer journey of research and development.

What connects them is a shared belief that good design can do more – creating objects of genuine character and value while challenging conventional approaches to materials and production. Through these relationships, HOST creates a space where experimentation can develop into something tangible, desirable and commercially viable.

We are always interested in new ideas. If you are a designer, artist, researcher, academic, maker, manufacturer or organisation interested in working together, we would love to hear from you at info@thehost.store

2025, London Design Festival

ReCinder x Museum of the Home

For the Shoreditch Design Triangle, as part of London Design Festival 2025, HOST teamed up with the Museum of the Home (MOTH) to explore ReCinder and the possibilities of transforming locally sourced fired ceramic waste into new objects for the home.

The collaboration resulted in a MOTH-branded collection of ReCinder tableware, developed and made in London and subsequently introduced into the museum’s retail collection.

2024, Salone del Mobile

ReCinder x The Preserve Journal & Grace Gloria Denis

An early iteration of ReCinder tableware was presented during Salone del Mobile 2024 as part of Digesting Degrowth, a collaborative project by The Preserve Journal and artist Grace Gloria Denis exploring regenerative, post-growth approaches to production and consumption through design, food and agriculture.

ReCinder brought a material perspective to the dialogue, demonstrating how a problematic waste stream could become a resource for new production.

 2023 – HOST x Jaja Soze + Dimitar Karanikolov

The World Around Us

The World Around Us saw HOST step beyond the physical object to explore music as another medium for sharing ideas, experiences and perspectives. Developed with Elijah Kerr, aka Jaja Soze, Brixton Recording Studios and Indigo Youth – a non-profit supporting young people from underprivileged backgrounds through the creative arts in Lambeth – the original single brought together Unknown Poet, Grace Blessing, Safia Rae, Jasmine Wilson, Alex Jackson and 6S.

Featuring original artwork by award-winning photographer Dimitar Karanikolov, the single release was accompanied by three of his photographs in limited editions of ten. 50% of the proceeds supported future music projects, allowing one collaboration to help create the conditions for another.
