Decorative yet functional, this beautifully tactile, hand-built ceramic bowl is crafted from a blend of stoneware clays for visual contrast, featuring an external rubbed red iron oxide finish and a matt black glazed interior. The gradation from heavy grogged black clay at the base to lighter flecked clay at the rim creates a natural variation that makes each piece unique.
Inspired by the eroded geological strata of the Suffolk coast, this work reflects themes of fragility and ecological balance. Developed with an 85% recovered clay body blend, exclusively for HOST.
