Its restrained proportions reflect the economy and functionality of historical everyday vessels, translated into a distinctly contemporary and beautifully tactile object.

The exterior is burnished by hand using a smooth river stone, compressing and smoothing the surface while preserving ReCinder’s distinctive sandstone-like character. Natural inclusions and subtle variations remain visible throughout, making each bowl individual and inherently collectable.

The glazed interior contrasts with the exposed, burnished exterior, introducing a functional finish without concealing the texture, inclusions and character of ReCinder that define the outside of the piece.

Part of The Highgate Collection, the bowl is made in Highgate from ReCinder produced using ceramic waste also sourced from studios in Highgate – creating an ultra-local connection between material, maker and place.
