ReCinder is ground-breaking tableware collection handcrafted from ceramic waste. Ultra-local and sustainably produced, the range repurposes discarded, defective, and broken fired ceramics sourced primarily from producers and academic institutions across London, transforming them into the lowest-carbon tableware range on the market.
Each plate diverts on average 650 grams of ceramic waste from landfill, reducing material loss and reliance on virgin materials while offering a sustainable alternative to traditional, carbon-intensive methods. To further minimise its environmental impact, ReCinder uses its own glaze formulation incorporating industrial waste.
While tackling the persistent challenge of ceramic waste, ReCinder also champions collaboration, supports local decarbonisation efforts, and demonstrates the power of design in advancing a circular economy.
Available exclusively at The Home of Sustainable Things (HOST), the collection is both dishwasher and microwave safe. Offered in two sizes: 21cm and 26cm in diameter.
