Folde’s “On Balance “collection explores the relationship between elegant silver linework and translucent discs of pale Highland horn. The outcome is a collection that celebrates the unique and ethereal nature of both materials in tandem.
Handcrafted in the practice’s London studio using recycled silver and horn, a by-product from the meat industry, the collection is made in small batches or as one-of-a-kind pieces.
Folde hopes to share the unique qualities of handmade British design and breathe new life into the endangered craft of horn-working. Common themes of touch and composition are manifested in a collection that is sensitively balanced, both aesthetically and materially.
